There is a serious dearth of studio-quality Quasi audio on the internets. I could have posted a hundred of their songs by now. (Maybe you're lucking out.)
They put out a new album last month called American Gong
, and it's SO GOOD. They're playing at Johnny Brenda's next month and I WILL BE THERE, drinking cider and getting too close to the speakers. It's been a while since they've come through town, and I'm looking forward to it. (When I've seen them in the past, I was always really amazed that they could reproduce that amount of noise with only two people on stage. I'd always assumed there were other people, who just weren't in the promo photos for whatever reason.)
Janet Weiss is still pretty much my favorite drummer. I once danced right next to her at a Black Heart Procession concert, and I was too shy to say hello. Regrets.
So that's what's happening in 2010.
But the only stuff, other than live performances, I can find on YouTube is from the album Featuring "Birds,"
from 1998. (Or earlier.) This song is awesome, though. The last few lines always make me laugh 'cause they kind of come out of nowhere. (Like, "Oh, and by the way, I hate you.") They sound pretty much the same, except that they have a bass player now (which makes their sound a lot heavier, which I like), and there isn't as much keyboard lately (which I must admit that I miss).
